Jennifer L. Sanders, MA, is a Licensed Psychological Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience serving adults and families in the Louisville area. A native of Charlestown, Indiana, she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Spalding University, completing her graduate training in Clinical Psychology in 2006. She spent the early years of her career working with children and families in outpatient and community-based settings before transitioning into private practice focused primarily on adult mental health.
Jennifer’s clinical background includes extensive experience in psychotherapy and psychological assessment, including roles at Seven Counties Services, Edelson & Associates, and the University of Louisville’s Depression Center. After becoming a mother in 2012, she became increasingly aware of the gaps in mental health services for expecting and new parents. Motivated by this need, she pursued advanced training through Postpartum Support International in the assessment and treatment of Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs). She expanded her expertise by completing formal postpartum doula training through DONA International, along with additional education in lactation support.
In 2017, Jennifer launched her private practice, where she developed strong collaborative relationships with local obstetric, pediatric, and allied perinatal care providers. In 2019, she helped launch the Kentucky Chapter of Postpartum Support International (PSI-KY), working alongside other leaders in perinatal mental health to develop a statewide support network that continues to serve families today. Jennifer is known for providing thoughtful, high-quality therapeutic care to women and families navigating the emotional transitions of pregnancy and early parenthood. Her work includes the treatment of perinatal depression and anxiety, grief related to pregnancy and infant loss, infertility-related stress, and marital and relationship challenges during the postpartum period.
Jennifer believes strongly in early identification, prevention, and integrated care, particularly within environments where families are already connected to trusted providers. She approaches her work with clinical depth, compassion, and a commitment to helping families feel supported, understood, and equipped to move forward with confidence.
In addition to her professional work, Jennifer is the mother of three outstanding adolescents and spends an unreasonable amount of time at the baseball and softball fields cheering them on. When she’s not there, she enjoys being in nature, hiking, and listening to audiobooks.
